| Obverse description | Facing bust of the emperor in the name of Justinian II, crowned with a jewelled diadem and draped in imperial robes with a beaded collar visible across the shoulders. The effigy is rendered in a stylized, frontally symmetrical manner characteristic of Lombard imitative coinage, with pronounced wide eyes and a short beard. A cross-sceptre appears to the left of the bust. The surrounding circular legend is divided on either side of the imperial portrait. |

| Reverse description | A bold Latin cross potent occupies the centre of the field, with a small human hand depicted to the right of the cross shaft, a distinctive and unusual iconographic element identifying this Beneventan emission. Pellets or decorative stops are visible in the angles of the cross. The legend encircles the central device, distributed around the full perimeter of the coin, with CONOB appearing prominently in the lower segment, imitating the Byzantine mint and quality mark for Constantinople. |
