Opis awersu	Facing bust of Grimoald III, draped and crowned with a jewelled crown, rendered in the late Lombard Byzantine style. The prince's bearded face is depicted frontally with stylized features, wearing a collar adorned with pellets. The legend is divided on either side of the bust in the field, flanking the effigy to the left and right. A cross surmounts the crown above the head.
