| Opis awersu | Right-facing bust of the usurper Eugenius rendered in high relief, adorned with a pearl diadem from which pendant strings of pearls descend behind the ear, the effigy draped and cuirassed in late Roman military fashion. The portrait exhibits a bearded visage with finely engraved facial features characteristic of late 4th-century Western imperial coinage. The paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, fastened with a fibula, and the cuirass displays detailed musculature and pteryges. The surrounding Latin legend is disposed clockwise around the field, divided by the bust. |
