Obverse description Two confronted royal busts facing one another across a central scepter or cross, rendered in the highly schematic, late Visigothic style characteristic of the joint reign coinage. The busts are crudely executed with pellet eyes and simplified drapery, reflecting the artistic conventions of seventh-century Iberian goldsmithing. A circular Latin legend surrounds the design within a beaded border. The overall composition conveys the dual sovereignty of co-rulers Egica and Wittiza.
