Obverse description Central field dominated by a tall cross potent set upon a stepped base, flanked by stylized foliate or vegetal ornaments issuing from the base. A small cross pattee appears at the top of the design, above the main cross. The entire central motif is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, rendered in debased Latin capitals characteristic of late Visigothic coinage, runs between the inner beaded border and an outer pearl border.
