Reverse description Central motif consisting of a wheel or rota cross within a raised circular border, featuring eight spokes radiating from a central hub with pellets in the interstices, evoking both Christian and late antique decorative traditions. A small cross pattée appears above the circle at the twelve o'clock position. The circumferential legend in Latin reads ✠ FLAVIA TICINO, the ancient Roman toponym for Pavia, distributed evenly around the flan. The overall fabric is irregular and the strike slightly weak at the clipped edge, consistent with hammered gold tremisses of the early Carolingian period.
