Obverse description Within a raised outer border, the legend FLAVIA LVCA is arranged in the annular field between two concentric circles. At the center, a six-petaled rosette is rendered in low relief within the inner circle, the petals radiating symmetrically from a central pellet. A small cross appears among the letters at the top of the legend, serving as a word divider. The overall design is characteristic of the Lombard pseudo-imperial tremissis tradition, with the city name of Lucca proudly displayed as issuing authority.
