| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Maria Theresa facing right, with an elaborate veil and diadem, encircled by a divided Latin legend reading M·THERESIA·D:G·R· IMP·GE·HU·BO·REG·. An Arabic Java countermark is applied to the obverse field, identifying the coin's official recognition as a trade currency within the Netherlands East Indies. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style typical of Habsburg coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |

| Reverse description | A crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, occupies the full reverse field. At the center of the eagle's breast is a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the combined arms of the Habsburg dominions, with a smaller inescutcheon of Tyrol at its heart. The circumferential Latin legend ARCHID·AUST·DUX BU·COM·TYR·1765·X· runs around the periphery, with the date 1765 incorporated into the legend. The eagle's heads are each surmounted by a separate crown, unified beneath a central imperial crown above. |
