Obverse description Full-length frontal effigy of Tsar Konstantin Tih Asen in imperial regalia, crowned with a jewelled stemma, standing facing on a footstool. In his right hand he holds a long patriarchal labarum staff, while his left hand supports a globus cruciger. Imperial loros and elaborately decorated garments are rendered in low relief across the concave field.

Reverse description Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator depicted in Byzantine style, nimbed and robed, holding a scroll or codex in his left hand and raising his right hand in benediction. A cross appears to the left and right of the bust within the concave field, framing the central image in the manner of contemporary Byzantine coinage.
