| Reverse description | A large bold cross occupies the central field of the concave flan, its arms extending nearly to the coin's edge. The Christogram IC–XC (abbreviation for Jesus Christ) is distributed in the upper two quarters flanking the cross arms. Four-pointed stars are placed symmetrically in the lower two quarters. The design follows standard Byzantine reverse iconography adapted for Bulgarian imperial coinage of the 13th century. |
