| Reverse description | A bold Greek cross with broad arms dominates the center of the field, with the mint mark letters P P P P (for Porto) placed in each of the four quadrants formed by the cross arms. The circular Latin legend IN HOC SIGNO VINCES ('In this sign you shall conquer') runs around the periphery, separated by pellets, a traditional Christological motto used on Portuguese coinage of this period. The design is clean and well-struck, with the cross serving as the primary heraldic device. The coin's milled edge is visible at the border. |
