| Opis awersu | Central crowned Portuguese royal shield of arms, displaying the five escutcheons charged with bezants and the castle bordure, flanked by the Porto mint letters 'I' and 'Λ' (Lambda) at either side of the crown. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading the king's royal titles. The composition is executed in the hammered tradition with characteristic irregular flan and bold, deeply struck relief typical of mid-16th century Portuguese silver coinage. |

| Opis rewersu | A cross pattée, ornately decorated and set within a beaded circle, surrounded by the devotional Latin legend 'IN HOC SIGNO VINCES' (In this sign you shall conquer). The cross features elaborately cusped terminals and is rendered in high relief, consistent with the hammered technique employed at the Porto mint during the reign of João III. The overall design reflects the strong religious iconography characteristic of Portuguese Renaissance coinage. |
