| Obverse description | Draped bust of King Charles VII (Carlo) facing right, with long flowing periwig, set within a toothed border. The royal title legend in Latin runs around the periphery of the field. The mint official's initials 'I·A·' (for engraver Ignazio Aveta) appear below the bust in the lower exergual area. The portrait is rendered in a Baroque style typical of mid-18th century Neapolitan coinage. |
