Reverse description A bold cross pattée centered within a plain beaded inner circle, its broad flaring arms nearly touching the inner ring. The cross is set on a raised, slightly curved surface consistent with the scyphate fabric of the flan. The dynastic legend, identifying the issuer as Komnenos Palaiologos, is disposed in a continuous circular arrangement in the outer field between the beaded inner circle and the coin's irregular edge, with a pellet stop at the commencement of the inscription.
