Obverse description The entire field is occupied by a two-line Persian royal legend in elegant nastaliq calligraphy, reading 'سکه فتحعلی شه خسرو کشور ستان' (Coin of Fath-Ali Shah, Khusraw, Conqueror of Lands), rendered in bold, deeply struck strokes characteristic of Qajar hammered gold coinage. Decorative foliate and floral motifs fill the interstices between the letterforms, adding ornamental richness to the field. The coin is enclosed by a prominent inner border of raised pellets arranged in a continuous ring, itself surrounded by a secondary outer pellet border following the irregular flan edge. The overall composition exemplifies the high artistic standard of early nineteenth-century Persian die-engraving.
