| Obverse description | The obverse features a relief depiction of a fully equipped paratrooper descending by parachute in the left field, with military transport aircraft and additional parachutists in the upper field, and a large arched steel bridge in the right field representing the battle for the Rhine crossings. In the lower exergue, four circular medallions bear the flags of the Allied nations involved in the operation.
