Obverse description Central field features the interlaced monogram of the Munten mint (York Mint mintmark) enclosed within a circle, all surrounded by two concentric borders of denticles. The circular legend between the denticle borders reads MONUMUNT - NEDERLAND - BELGIUM - ARUBA - SURINAME.

Reverse description Standing figure of the Virgin of Holland in classical robes, leaning with her right hand on an ornate column and raising a hat on a pole with her left hand, the date 1981 in the exergue. A small star mintmark appears to the left of the figure, and a monogram PW (engraver Pieter Wetselaar) appears to the lower right. The circular legend is divided on either side of the figure within a denticled border.
