Obverse description Central device depicts the Millennium of Russia monument (erected 1862, Veliky Novgorod) in high relief, flanked on the right by a view of a multi-domed Orthodox cathedral against a stippled background. The curved legend around the upper rim reads the monument's name and date, with the issuer legend 'МУЗЕИ РОССИИ' in the field and 'НОВГОРОДСКИЙ МУЗЕЙ-ЗАПОВЕДНИК' in the lower exergue. The Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) appears at the bottom of the design.
