| Obverse description | The obverse features a detailed relief depiction of St. Vladimir's Cathedral at Tauric Chersonese, rendered in fine engraving. The curved legend along the upper rim reads МУЗЕИ РОССИИ and СВЯТО-ВЛАДИМИРСКИЙ СОБОР, with the inscription ЗАЛОЖЕН В 1861 in the field to the right of the cathedral and ХЕРСОНЕС ТАВРИЧЕСКИЙ at the base. Decorative floral scrollwork appears in the upper right, and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) is visible near the lower left. |
