Obverse description The obverse features a central composition depicting a flaming torch flanked by laurel branches, above a relief scene showing a historic building at left, industrial machinery and gears at right, and agricultural or educational tools in the lower field. The legend GREENVILLE, PA. arcs along the upper rim, with the motto 'The City of Culture' inscribed in script across the central field, and the words HISTORICAL, INDUSTRIAL, and EDUCATIONAL placed at the left, right, and bottom of the design respectively.

Reverse description The reverse displays a bold patriotic composition centered on a spread-winged American eagle above a colonial-era figure bearing the American flag, with the Statue of Liberty depicted at right. Thirteen stars are arranged around the field, and the large numeral '76' dominates the upper center beneath the arc legend SPIRIT OF 76. The dates 1776·1976 appear in the lower field, commemorating the United States Bicentennial.
