Obverse description A phoenix rising from flames occupies the central field in high relief, wings spread wide, symbolizing rebirth from fire. The legend E CINERE SUO REDIVIVUS arcs around the upper portion of the octagonal flan. A date inscription referencing the ordinances of 22 July 1818 and 26 April 1845 appears in the lower exergue area.

Reverse description A wreath of olive branches tied at the base with a ribbon frames the central field, within which the text SEINE INFERIEURE ET EURE appears in multiple lines. The legend ANCIENNE ASSURANCE MUTUELLE CONTRE L'INCENDIE runs around the periphery of the octagonal flan. The engraver's signature DEPAULIS is visible in small letters at the lower base of the wreath.
