This is not legal tender and never was. The "Token" designation places it outside Mauritius's official note-issuing framework entirely — the Bank of Mauritius has no record of authorizing a 500 Gulden denomination, and the gulden has no historical relationship to Mauritian currency, which has used the rupee since the nineteenth century. Minkin's name appears on a number of souvenir and fantasy polymer pieces produced during the 2010s, most of them printed for the collectibles market rather than any issuing authority.
Treat it as a privately produced polymer novelty. The 500 Gulden face value is decorative fiction.
