| Obverse description | Central field bears the ruler's name and title in bold cursive Arabic script arranged in two horizontal registers within an oval cartouche: the upper register reads the name of the khan, the lower register reads 'Abu'l-Ghazi Khan.' The date '١١٨١' (AH 1181) appears in the lower exergual area. The cartouche is surrounded by an elaborate floral and foliate scroll border, with a scalloped or lobed outer rim characteristic of Central Asian hammered gold coinage of the period. |
