正面描述 Diademed bust of a ruler facing right, rendered in a debased late-antique style characteristic of early Anglo-Saxon coinage. The hair is depicted with pellet-and-crescent ornament, and the face retains a schematic but recognisable portrait quality. A pseudo-legend composed of degenerate Latin letterforms runs before the bust in the field, unintelligible as a coherent text. The design derives ultimately from late Roman imperial prototypes, transmitted through Merovingian intermediaries. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered electrum thrymsas of this period.

背面描述 Central tablet bearing the runic inscription PADA in clearly legible Elder Futhark characters, identifying the moneyer or issuing authority. The tablet is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, around which runs a further pseudo-legend composed of degenerate letterforms and pellets, imitating the appearance of a Latin legend without conveying intelligible text. The overall design follows the standard Type IIa layout as classified by Metcalf, with the name-in-tablet motif serving as the principal identifying feature. The die-work is bold and competent, with the runic letters well-formed relative to the surrounding debased ornament. The reverse flan edge is characteristically irregular.
