| 正面描述 | Diademed bust of a ruler facing right, rendered in a debased late-antique style characteristic of early Anglo-Saxon coinage. The hair is depicted with pellet-and-crescent ornament, and the face retains a schematic but recognisable portrait quality. A pseudo-legend composed of degenerate Latin letterforms runs before the bust in the field, unintelligible as a coherent text. The design derives ultimately from late Roman imperial prototypes, transmitted through Merovingian intermediaries. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hammered electrum thrymsas of this period. |

| 背面描述 | Central tablet bearing the runic inscription PADA in clearly legible Elder Futhark characters, identifying the moneyer or issuing authority. The tablet is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, around which runs a further pseudo-legend composed of degenerate letterforms and pellets, imitating the appearance of a Latin legend without conveying intelligible text. The overall design follows the standard Type IIa layout as classified by Metcalf, with the name-in-tablet motif serving as the principal identifying feature. The die-work is bold and competent, with the runic letters well-formed relative to the surrounding debased ornament. The reverse flan edge is characteristically irregular. |
