Beschrijving voorzijde	Stylised radiate bust facing right, rendered in a bold, angular Anglo-Saxon idiom derived from late Roman prototypes. The head is surmounted by a prominent radiate crown composed of pellet-tipped rays, with the facial features indicated in a schematic manner characteristic of early insular gold coinage. A cross pattée appears before the face in the right field, serving as both a decorative and devotional element. The neck and truncation are adorned with pellet ornaments and linear detail suggesting drapery. The overall treatment reflects the degenerate but vigorous re-interpretation of Byzantine and Merovingian coin types by Anglo-Saxon die-cutters of the mid-seventh century.
