Obverse description Central field displays the elaborate quartered arms of Hesse-Cassel, supported by two rampant lions and surmounted by an Electoral crown, all enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The shield incorporates multiple heraldic quarterings representing the various territories of the Electorate. The surrounding legend reads WILH. II. KURF. U. FRIEDR. WILH. KURPR. U. MITTREG., identifying Elector William II and Crown Prince Frederick William as co-regent, separated by a small rosette at the base. The entire design is framed by a prominent outer beaded border.
