Obverse description At center, the rampant lion of Brunswick stands to the left atop a high city wall flanked by two towers with tall pointed spires, the entire composition rendered in bold relief. Beneath the city gate, an oval cartouche bears the fractional value '2/3', and the date is divided on either side of the cartouche. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the design within a beaded border. The heraldic imagery conveys the civic authority of the City of Brunswick in the Baroque tradition.
