Obverse description A field artillery cannon rendered in fine relief points to the right, resting on a wheeled gun carriage with additional arms and equipment scattered in the lower field. The ornately mantled civic arms of Strasbourg are displayed prominently above the cannon, flanked by the divided date 15-90 in large numerals to left and right. The overall composition is set within a plain inner circle bordered by a milled rim, with no surrounding legend. The engraving exhibits the robust, detailed style characteristic of late sixteenth-century South German die-cutting.
