Simon Henry Adolphus ruled Lippe from 1718 until his death in 1734, a relatively uneventful tenure in a small Westphalian county with little independent monetary ambition. The 1720 issue falls early in his reign, likely struck at a time when the county was asserting its coinage rights — a persistent concern among the smaller German states whose minting privileges under the Holy Roman Empire were perpetually contested by larger neighbors and Imperial oversight bodies.
KM#166 is sparsely documented in major auction records, suggesting limited surviving population rather than modern disinterest.
