Obverse description Central field occupied by a crowned oval shield bearing the Saxon arms — barry of ten or and sable with a crancelin in bend — flanked on either side by upright palm branches issuing from below. A royal crown surmounts the shield at top center. The peripheral legend, rendered in Latin script, reads BRAVNAV L:F:H:Z:S: with the date 17 43 divided across the upper field and the inscription 9. MAY. at the base, recording the commencement of the siege on 9 May 1743. The klippe flan is struck on a square planchet with chamfered corners and features a milled border.
Obverse script Latin
