| Obverse description | The quartered coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg occupies the central field, rendered in fine detail with heraldic charges including lions, a horse, and an inescutcheon bearing additional devices. The shield is draped with an ermine-lined mantle tied at the upper corners with tasselled cords, and surmounted by a jewelled grand ducal crown.
