Obverse description Armoured bust of John George II, Elector of Saxony, facing right, set within a plain inner circle, with the legend disposed around the periphery. The Salzburg countermark, applied in 1681 and comprising the letters '16S81', is struck into the field, attesting to the coin's official validation for circulation within the Archbishopric. The portrait displays typical late-baroque armoured effigy style consistent with Dresden mint production of the 1660s.

Reverse description A crowned, ornately shaped heraldic shield bearing the four-fold composite coat of arms of Electoral Saxony, with the central escutcheon of the electorate prominently displayed. The mintmaster's initials 'CR' appear in the field flanking the shield. A plain inner circle frames the composition, with the legend disposed around the periphery, the date 1668 incorporated within, and the fractional denomination '1/3' enclosed within an oval cartouche at the base of the design.
