Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg, facing right, with long flowing hair; the fraction denomination '1/3' appears on the shoulder. A later countermark — a small crowned shield bearing the Salzburg arms — has been applied to the portrait area. The peripheral legend encircles the effigy in Latin script.

Reverse description Large crowned composite coat of arms comprising multiple quartered fields, displaying the heraldic devices of the Archbishopric of Salzburg; the date is divided and placed in the upper field to either side of the crown. The mint master's initials 'IW' appear in the lower portion of the field, and the encircling legend in Latin reads as 'New silver coinage.'
