Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of Duke Leopold Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau, rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. The encircling legend reads LEOPOLD FRIEDRICH HERZOG VON ANHALT along the rim. The Berlin mint mark 'A' appears at the base of the portrait below the truncation. The overall design reflects the restrained classical portraiture typical of mid-nineteenth-century German state coinage.
