| Obverse description | Nine-line Latin funerary inscription filling the central field, recording the death of Elector John George IV of Saxony, with the fractional denomination '1/6' displayed within a small oval cartouche at the bottom of the inscription. The circular legend around the periphery reads IOH · GEORGIVS · SAX · ELECT · ARCHIM · & FL, identifying the deceased as Elector of Saxony and Archchamberlain of the Holy Roman Empire. The mintmaster's initials IK appear below the oval denomination shield. The coin is struck on a milled flan with a fine toothed border. |
