Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of John George IV, Elector of Saxony, with long flowing curled wig typical of the late 17th-century baroque style, wearing armour with elaborate lace cravat visible at the neck. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail in the hair and costume. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading IOH: GEORG: IIII. D. G. DUX SAX: I. C. M. A. & W., abbreviating his full Electoral titles. The field is smooth and slightly convex, and the coin is struck within a reeded border.
