Obverse description Central field occupied by a large, elaborately quartered heraldic shield bearing the dynastic arms of Anhalt-Zerbst, incorporating multiple charges including bars, eagles, lions, and a checkered field, surmounted by a princely crown with cross finial. The fully engraved coat of arms is rendered in fine detail consistent with early 18th-century German die-engraving practice. A circular Latin legend encircles the shield, interrupted by the date 1728, reading from the upper right and continuing around the rim.
