Obverse description Central field dominated by a large quartered shield of arms displaying the heraldic devices of the Bishopric of Chur, with lions and barry fields in the quarters. The episcopal mitre surmounts the shield, flanked by ornate foliate mantling. The whole is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend running continuously around the outer border of the coin.
