Reverse description Central device depicts a rocky island rising from the sea, surmounted by a tall palm tree, symbolizing steadfast endurance amid adversity. Two three-masted sailing ships are shown under sail at either side of the island, one to the left and one to the right. The motto legend EX DURIS GLORIA arcs above, while the fineness and date inscription occupies the lower portion of the field. The overall design reflects the emblematic baroque tradition common to German territorial coinage of the period.
