Obverse description Facing bust of Martin Luther rendered in high relief, depicted in three-quarter view with characteristic collar and draped clerical robes, the date 1661 inscribed below the truncation within a decorative cartouche. A circular Gothic-script legend surrounds the effigy, reading in abbreviated Latin and German referencing Luther's title and Wittenberg, framed by an inner beaded border. The portrait reflects the Reformation commemorative tradition, closely derived from Cranach-school iconographic models.
