Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Gustav Adolphus facing right, with long flowing wig in the baroque style. The effigy is rendered in high relief with elaborate armored or mantled drapery visible at the truncation. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the central field by a beaded border. The initials G·A·D·G· appear to the left and M·D· with additional letters to the right of the bust, forming the abbreviated ducal titulature.
