⅔ Thaler - George William

Leiningen-Westerburg was a fragmented imperial county in the Rhenish Palatinate, and by 1677 its ruling house had been subdivided enough times that its coinage carried more dynastic symbolism than economic weight. The ⅔ Thaler — essentially the German equivalent of the Dutch gulden — became a dominant denomination across the Holy Roman Empire following the currency chaos of the Thirty Years' War, as territorial lords scrambled to issue tradeable silver in a format recognized across state lines.

George William's issues are scarce survivors. Leiningen-Westerburg's small population and limited mint activity kept production figures low, and the county's absorption into larger political structures in subsequent generations did little to preserve archival mint records.
