| Obverse description | Central field displays the quartered arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg within a crowned shield, flanked by the ducal initials 'GW' on either side. The shield exhibits the characteristic heraldic lions of Brunswick and the horse of Westphalia among other dynastic quarterings. A beaded inner circle frames the central device. The surrounding legend reads in Latin, identifying the ruler as Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg by the grace of God.
