正面描述 Central shield bearing a quartered coat of arms incorporating the arms of Great Britain, France, Brunswick-Lüneburg, and Ireland, surmounted by a royal crown that divides the date at the top of the field. The fractional denomination FEIN SILB: 1/3 appears in the lower portion of the field, interrupting the encircling legend. The legend commences at approximately 2 o'clock and reads in Latin, identifying the ruler as George II, King of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, and Defender of the Faith.

附加信息

Brunswick-Lüneburg's coinage during George II's reign was complicated by the personal union with Britain — the Hanoverian treasury operated independently, and these fractional thalers circulated domestically in the Electorate while George himself rarely set foot in Hanover after 1736. The 1/3 thaler denomination was a workhorse of north German commerce, pegged to the Reichsthaler system that kept the fragmented German states loosely monetarily compatible.

KM#255 spans a 23-year run, meaning die marriages and minor varieties are numerous and largely uncatalogued in mainstream references.
