Obverse description Four heraldic shields arranged in cruciform pattern, each bearing the arms of the constituent territories of George I: the quartered English and Scottish lions at top, the Irish harp at bottom, and the arms of Brunswick-Lüneburg and France to the left and right respectively. At the center of the cross, a small circular shield bears the denomination fraction 1/6. Each shield is surmounted or flanked by crowns and decorative elements. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, running along the milled border.
