Obverse description The obverse displays the crowned coat of arms of Waldeck-Pyrmont at center, comprising a quartered shield with the star of Waldeck and the cross of Pyrmont, draped in ermine mantling and surmounted by a princely crown. The arms are flanked by elaborate heraldic drapery falling to either side. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire design, reading GEORG HEINRICH FÜRST Z WALDECK U PYRMONT, identifying the reigning prince George Frederick Henry.
