| Obverse description | The traditional rampant horse of Brunswick leaps to the left in high relief at the centre of the field, its flowing mane and tail rendered with fine detail, above a ground line of laurel sprigs. The mint mark M.C. appears in the exergue beneath the ground line. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the design along the inner border, reading FRIDERICVS GVIL . D . G . DVX BR . ET L M.C., identifying Duke Frederick William of Brunswick and Lüneburg. |

| Reverse description | Within a raised inner circle, the denomination is boldly displayed in three lines as VI / EINEN / THALER, with the date 1814 below, all separated by small rosette or quatrefoil ornaments. A peripheral legend along the outer border reads LXXX EINE FEINE MARK CONV . M . VI EINEN THALER, indicating the Convention standard fineness and the relationship of the coin to the Cologne mark of fine silver. |
