Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Elector Frederick Augustus III facing right, with elaborately curled hair tied with a ribbon at the nape, truncation adorned with decorative scrollwork. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads FRID: AVGVST: D: G: SAXONIE: ELECTOR in Latin characters. The coin displays fine portrait engraving typical of mid-18th century German minting practice, with a milled border encircling the entire design.
