| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Frederick August II, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, depicted with long curled wig and armored cuirass with ornate decorative details. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style characteristic of mid-18th century Saxon coinage. The encircling Latin legend reads D: G: FRID: AVGVST: REX POL: EL: SAX:, denoting his titles by the grace of God as King of Poland and Elector of Saxony. The rim is bordered by a fine milled edge, framing the portrait field. |
