| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Frederick August I, King of Saxony, facing right, with long flowing hair tied at the nape in the neoclassical style. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail in the hair and features. The circular Latin legend reads FRID.AVGVST.D.G.REX SAXONIAE, separated from the portrait by a plain inner border. The flat field surrounding the bust is unadorned. |

| Reverse description | The crowned arms of Saxony at center, an oval quartered shield displaying the traditional Saxon barry with the Rautenkranz diagonal, supported on either side by crossed palm branches. The mint mark IGS and the denomination 2/3 appear in the lower field flanking the base of the shield. The year of issue and the fineness legend ZWANZIG EINE FEINE MARK are disposed around the periphery in two lines, with the date at left and the fineness inscription continuing at right and along the lower arc. |
